Cork GAA County Board agrees to binding arbitration

The Cork GAA County Board agreed last night to accept binding arbitration in an effort to resolve the long-running row with Rebels' hurlers and footballers.

The players are now expected to declare this morning whether they will also agree to be bound by the recommendation of an outside mediator.

If they do agree to the move, an independent official, chosen by LRC chief executive Kieran Mulvey, will issue the recommendation.

The players are taking strike action as part of a dispute over the way in which selectors are appointed.
