Sligo no match for Longford

Longford 4-19 Sligo 2-3, Pearse Park

Two first half goals from Eoin Donnellan helped Longford to a 22-point win over a young Sligo outfit at Pearse Park this afternoon.

It was a game which the hosts always looked like winning. Sligo failed to cope with a strong start by Longford who raced into a 3-10 to 0-1 interval lead.

Although Conor O'Mahoney and Damien Burke hit the net for the visitors on the restart, they could not cope with Longford's slick play and the Leinster side ran out comfortable winners.
