Monaghan thrash Roscommon by 10 points

MONAGHAN 1-18 ROSCOMMON 1-8

Monaghan had a rewarding first day out in Allianz NFL Division Two as they put Roscommon to the sword at Clones.

All-Star Thomas Freeman hit 0-8 for Monaghan, while Paul Finlay (0-4) and Conor McManus (0-3) also made valuable contributions.

The hosts were 0-11 to 1-2 ahead at half-time despite leaking a ninth-minute goal to Conor Devaney.

Cathal Cregg and Karol Mannion kept Roscommon competitive, although they did have midfielder Seamus O'Neill sent off.

A goal from substitute Daniel McNally wrapped it up for the Ulster men.
