Ulster opposition to GAA players' grants may escalate
One of the driving forces behind Ulster opposition to GAA players' grants could become a high-profile elected official in the North tonight.
Mark Durkan is contesting the positions of treasurer and PRO at tonight's Tyrone Convention.
Durkan quit the Club Tyrone fundraising group yesterday, in protest against the payments to players that were given the green light earlier this month.
Down and Derry have already passed motions at their county conventions condemning the payments.
