Harte gets three-year extension with Tyrone
Mickey Harte has been given a three-year extension to his tenure as manager of the Tyrone senior footballers.
Harte requested the extension and the Tyrone County Committee have agreed to allow the Ballygawley man to continue at the helm until 2010.
Next year was going to be Harte's last of a three-year appointment - he was initially appointed in November 2002, succeeding the managerial duo of Eugene McKenna and Art McRory.
The Errigal Ciaran clubman has guided his county to unprecedented success, with his Tyrone side winning All-Ireland SFC titles in 2003 and 2005. He had previously led the county's minors and Under-21s to All-Ireland glory.
This year Harte's Red Hands faltered at the All-Ireland quarter-final stage, losing to Meath, but they did annex their eleventh Ulster championship and first since 2003.
