Doolan returns to Kerry minor side
Dr. Crokes clubman Jamie Doolan has been drafted into the Kerry team for Sunday's All-Ireland minor football semi-final against Galway (Croke Park, throw-in 1.45pm).
Doolan has recovered from the hand injury which forced him to miss the recent quarter-final win over Tyrone and will return this weekend in place of Micheal O'Se at right half-forward.
That is the only change manager Jack Kennedy has made to the Kingdom side that beat Tyrone 2-9 to 1-8 in Tullamore on August 5.
A shock call-up for that game, Wayne Gutherie has retained his place in the Kerry midfield following a strong display.
Gutherie plays his club football with Austin Stacks and is also a noted soccer goalkeeper, lining out for Kerry in the eircom Under-21 League. He caught some great ball in the Tyrone match and revels in his centre-field partnership with Johnny Buckley.
The Kerry team is captained from corner back by Danny O'Sullivan and also includes the manager's son, Eoin Kennedy, at corner forward.
The green and gold youngsters are hoping to make up for last year's disappointment when they lost to Roscommon in a replayed final. Kerry's last All-Ireland title win at the minor grade was back in 1994.
