Bradleys get oak leaf call

Patsy Bradley and Paddy Bradley have been recalled to the Derry team for Sunday's Ulster SFC semi-final showdown with Monaghan (Casement Park, throw-in 3.30pm).

Patsy Bradley steps in at right half-back for Paul Cartin, who has a serious knee injury, while Paddy Bradley has recovered from a groin injury to claim Barry McGoldrick's place at right half-forward.

Both of the Bradleys were used as substitutes in the Oak Leaf county's 1-13 to 0-10 quarter-final win over Antrim.

Banagher clubman Cartin is set to miss the rest of the season due to the cruciate ligament damage he sustained in the win over the Saffrons.

They are the only two changes manager Paddy Crozier has made to the Derry side that beat Antrim a fortnight ago.

Paddy Bradley, a replacement All-Star this year, passed a fitness test earlier this evening and will make his first start of the championship campaign in Belfast. The Glenullin attacker finished as the sixth top scorer in last year's All-Ireland senior championship, tallying up 2-20.

Derry are hoping to reach the Ulster final for the first time since 2000.

The Oak Leafers had plenty to spare when they last met Monaghan in the championship - they emerged as 1-17 to 2-8 victors when the sides clashed at Ulster's quarter-final stage two years ago.

DERRY (SFC v Monaghan) - B Gillis; M McGoldrick, K McCloy (capt), G O'Kane; Patsy Bradley, SM Lockhart, C McKeever; F Doherty, J Conway; Paddy Bradley, C Gilligan, J Diver; R Wilkinson, E Muldoon, M Lynch.
