Cork to appeal Semple punishments

Cork are understood to be working on appeal against the punishments handed out over the violent scenes at Semple Stadium last month.

The county has made official comment on the matter, but it is understood an appeal could be heard at Croke Park as early as this evening

As it stands, Donal Og Cusack, Diarmuid O'Sullivan and Seán Óg Ó hAilpín will miss out on Sunday's Munster semi-final with Waterford.

They have been suspended for four weeks for their part in the pre-match violence that marred the Rebels meeting with Clare last month.

Clare are also set to appeal their punishment.
