Roscommon and Fermanagh to clash in Rackard Cup

The hurlers of Roscommon, this season's NHL Division Three champions, and Fermanagh, the Division Three Shield winners, have been paired together for the group stages of the 2007 Nicky Rackard Cup.

The winners of the league competitions have been pitted together in Group 3C, along with Monaghan.

The Rackard Cup, won last year by Ulster side Derry, has four groups of three counties drawn on a seeded basis. Each team will play each other in a single group - two games, one home and one away - with the top two teams in each group progressing to the quarter-finals.

The quarter-final pairings will be decided on an open draw basis. Those last-eight games will take place on July 14, with the semi-finals and final pencilled in for July 21 and August 12 respectively.

Donegal, who lost 5-15 to 1-14 to Derry in last year's final at Croke Park, will have Longford, who were beaten semi-finalists in 2006, and Leitrim for company in Group 3B.

Armagh, another team to falter in the final four last summer, have been drawn with Sligo and Tyrone in Group 3A, while Warwickshire, Louth and Cavan will battle for the top places in Group 3D.
