Dublin hurlers sweat O'Reilly scan results
Dublin hurler Kevin O'Reilly is eagerly awaiting the results of an MRI scan which will decide whether he can play any part in this summer's championship.
O'Reilly injured his knee and had to be taken off after 15 minutes of Dublin's final game of the National Hurling League's regulation phase against Tipperary last Sunday.
There are genuine fears in the Dublin camp that O'Reilly, who finished the league as the Metropolitans' top scorer with 1-19 (1-0 pen, 0-12f, 0-2 sline, 0-1 '65'), may have suffered a cruciate ligament tear.
The talented Lucan Sarsfields forward will know more when he receives the scan results in the coming days.
After securing their top flight status in the league, Dublin's attentions are now switching towards their Leinster SHC semi-final against Wexford at Nowlan Park on May 9.
There is better news on the injury front with regards to that match as Dublin manager Tommy Naughton is expecting the injured quartet of John McCaffrey, Padraig O'Driscoll, Phillip Brennan and Liam Ryan to return to full training ahead of the provincial clash.
