Clare delay team announcement

Clare manager Paidí O'Sé will not be naming his team for Sunday's NFL Division 2A clash with Monaghan at Cusack Park (throw-in 1.30pm) until the morning of the match.

With a number of his senior panel due to play for Clare against Kerry in the Munster U21 championship on Saturday, O'Sé has opted to delay his team announcement.

Injured duo Stephen Monaghan (hamstring) and Nickey Hogan (hand) will definitely sit out the Monaghan game.

Niall Considine and Michael O'Shea are also struggling to shake off knocks.

Meanwhile, the injury situation has worsened for Tony Considine's Clare hurlers.

Four more players have joined the Banner's injury list after last weekend's loss to Wexford.

Jonathan Clancy (hamstring), Barry Nugent (calf), Declan O'Rourke (eye) and Colm Forde (bad bruising) are all desperately trying to recover in time for Sunday week's NHL tie with Waterford in Ennis.

Meanwhile, Frank Lohan (finger), Fergal Lynch (neck), Gerry O'Grady (quad muscle) and Derek Quinn (ankle) all missed the Wexford game and are reportedly struggling for fitness.
