Meath goalkeeper Rogers goes pro with Galway Utd

Meath goalkeeper Gary Rogers has today agreed a deal to go professional with Galway United.

25-year-old Rogers lined out in goal for Meath when they defeated Antrim in Division 2B of the National Football League, and it was anticipated that he would be available to the Royals for the year ahead.

But instead he is destined for a season in the Premier Division with newly-promoted Galway United, who have confirmed this afternoon that Rogers has just signed for them from Bray Wanderers, and he will line out between the sticks in tonight's friendly against Finn Harps.
