Fogarty expecting 'serious' challenge from Cork
Tipperary captain Philly Fogarty reckons her side will have to dig deep to dethrone reigning champions Cork in Sunday's Gala All-Ireland Senior Camogie final.
The Premier County girls lost their grip on the O'Duffy Cup last year when Cork spoiled their three-in-a-row bid in a thriller at Croke Park.
Now Fogarty, who has stepped in as Tipp's centre-back in place of the retired Ciara Gaynor, is out for revenge, especially after Cork's 2-7 to 2-5 victory in May's National League decider.
She said: "Cork are a serious team. They have quality all over the pitch and are especially strong down the centre of their team. It is important for us to concentrate on our own game and if we can do that and stay focused we know we will have a chance."
Tipp have had their setbacks this season, but Fogarty believes they only have only served to strengthen her teammates' resolve.
"I think the early defeat to Galway really spurred us on and we haven't looked back since. Against Kilkenny in the semi-final we had a bit of luck, it would be fair to say, but I guess you need that to win any title."
Meanwhile, Dublin's victorious camogie team, who defeated Derry in last month's junior final to retain their All-Ireland title, will be afforded a civic reception on Friday.
Peter Lucey, his backroom staff and the players, led by recently-married captain Anne McCluskey, will be the guests of the capital's Lord Mayor, Councillor Vincent Jackson at the Mansion House.
