Kilkenny U21s call on Hogan and Power
Paddy Hogan and Richie Power have been brought into the Kilkenny side for Saturday's Erin All-Ireland Under-21 hurling semi-final against Galway (Tullamore, throw-in 6.30pm).
Hogan, who came off the bench to score a point in last month's Leinster final win over Dublin, and senior panellist Richie Power will line out at left half-forward and right corner forward respectively.
Eddie O'Donoghue and another senior star John Tennyson, whose shoulder injury means he is a serious doubt for next month's All-Ireland SHC decider, are the players to make way.
Tennyson's unavailability means John Dalton moves from right half-back to centre back with Pat Hartley and Darren Fogarty flanking him.
Adrian Finan's starting XV contains six players - Power, Donnacha Cody, John Dalton, James 'Cha' Fitzpatrick, Michael Fennelly and Austin Murphy - that started last year's meeting between the sides. Galway won that by 1-15 to 1-14 to clinch the All-Ireland title.
The crocked Tennyson also started that dramatic game at the Gaelic Grounds.
KILKENNY (U-21HC v Galway) - L Tierney; K Joyce, D Cody, S Cummins; P Hartley, J Dalton, D Fogarty; J Fitzpatrick, M Fennelly; TJ Reid, A Murphy, P Hogan; R Power, M Nolan, D McCormack.
