Tipp minors into hurling final
ALL-IRELAND MHC SEMI-FINAL:
Tipperary 0-19 Kilkenny 3-9
The Tipperary minors created history at Croke Park today as they qualified for next month's All-Ireland MHC final.
Seamus Callinan sent over two late points as Tipp got the better of Kilkenny at minor level for the first time since 1976. Galway await them in the September 3 decider.
Liam Sheedy's Tipp side led 0-9 to 1-4 at the break, despite Michael Murphy's goal.
Richie Hogan and John Mulhall added further Kilkenny goals, but the Munster runners-up bounced back with Patrick Bourke scoring five points from play.
All of the Tipp forwards, bar Timmy Dalton, contributed scores.
