Begley goals help Limerick through qualifier

Big full-forward Brian Begley goaled twice as Limerick fought off a determined Dublin side to advance to the All-Ireland SHC quarter-finals.

It took an injury-time goal from Begley to confirm the result. Cork or Kilkenny await the Shannonsiders in the last-eight.

Begley fielded a Mark Foley delivery and kicked it to the visitors’ net. Dublin, for whom David Curtin scored 0-05, replied in first half injury-time when their own number 14 Kevin Flynn netted for a 1-05 to 1-08 deficit.

The Dubs, who now face Westmeath in a relegation play-off, had a number of goal chances saved by Brian Murray.
