Bone damage for Cats star Power

A leg bone injury is expected to keep prodigal forward Richie Power out of the Kilkenny team for Saturday week's Leinster SHC semi-final against Westmeath.

The 20-year-old is set to sit out the Mullingar clash after a scan this week revealed bone damage.

Power initially injured his leg against Limerick in the recent National League final.

He played a small part in Carrickshock's county league game against Dunnamaggin last month, but has been sidelined since.

Former AllStar Noel Hickey and Ballyhale attacker Eoin Reid are both rated as 'doubtful' for the Leinster semi-final due to hamstring injuries.

Meanwhile, Bryan Barry, who lined out at midfield in Kilkenny's 2005 League final win, has quit the Cats' panel to concentrate on his studies at UCD.
