Meath were 0-06 to 0-01 in front at half-time against a misfiring Derry side. Daithi Regan notched 0-03 in the opening half.
Paddy Bradley scored 0-05 for Derry in the second half, but late points from captain Joe Sheridan and Peter Curran (free) ensured a home win.
