Moynihan to make comeback against Dublin

Seamus Moynihan will make his first competitive appearance for Kerry since last year's All-Ireland SFC final when they take on Dublin in NFL Division 1A this Sunday in Killarney.

The three-time All-Ireland winner has earned a recall to the Kingdom's defence with full-back Michael McCarthy (broken hand bone) sidelined.

The 32-year-old Moynihan took an extended break from football after last year's All-Ireland loss to Tyrone. His comeback was delayed last month when he picked up a hamstring strain in a challenge match but he has been lining out for Glenfesk in the East Kerry Senior League in recent weeks.

Kerry manager Jack O'Connor has made two personnel changes and three positional switches to the side that lost 1-12 to 1-14 to Tyrone, two weeks ago.

Dingle's Diarmuid Murphy takes over in goal from Kieran Cremin. Moynihan returns at centre half-back, with Rathmore's Aidan O'Mahony, arguably Kerry's most consistent performer in the League, reverting to right corner back and Marc Ó Sé slotting in at full-back in McCarthy's absence.

The other positional switch sees St. Michael's/Foilmore's Ronan O'Connor, who kicked two frees against Tyrone, listed at full-forward with captain Declan O'Sullivan moving to left corner forward.

The participation of Colm 'Gooch' Cooper, Kerry's top-scorer in the League so far with 1-25 in five starts, is in some doubt. The 2005 All-Star's father Mike passed away on Monday and the Kerry management have left a vacancy at right corner forward for the 22-year-old Cooper if he decides to play.

Mike Frank Russell and Darren O'Sullivan are on stand-by to start (throw-in 3.30pm).
