Limerick sit second in NHL Division 1B after picking up an expected win over Laois at O'Moore Park.

In front of an 800-strong crowd, the Shannonsiders were 0-09 to 0-06 in front at the interval. A three-point burst from Mark Keane, Andrew O'Shaughnessy and Conor Fitzgerald was central to their lead, although Keane hit some poor wides and was replaced by Niall Moran for the second half.

James Hooban kept Laois in touch with three first-half points. Scores from Mark Rooney and Michael McEvoy put the minimum between the sides but Limerick substitute Donie Ryan's 57th-minute goal decided it.
