Armagh recover from shock early goal
Down 1-11 Armagh 2-09
Reigning champions Armagh picked up their second win in three Division 1B outings as they came from behind in Newry today.
The Orchard men were left stunned when Down skipper Benny Coulter raced through for a goal after only 16 seconds. The hosts led 1-05 to 1-03 at the interval with Armagh substitute Andy Mallon netting in the 27th-minute.
Down went five points up before Armagh scored 1-04 between the 58th and 62nd minutes. Malachy Mackin’s fisted goal had them in front for the first time. Down had a late chance to snatch it but Damien Rafferty blazed his penalty over.
