Mayo see off challenge of Cork
Mayo 0-12 Cork 0-07
Mayo put one foot in the semi-finals as they saw off the challenge of Cork in Castlebar.
Ballintubber’s Alan Dillon filled the vacancy left by the suspended Conor Mortimer at the top of the right and he did so with aplomb, scoring 0-07 (5f) in a classy display.
Mickey Moran’s men were 0-07 to 0-05 in front by half time. Dillon hit 0-04 (3f), while Kevin O’Sullivan kicked two frees for Cork.
Fintan Gould, who played for the Under-21s yesterday, and David Niblock were the Rebels’ only scorers after the break as Mayo eased out to their fifth league win.
