Gooch on target for Kerry

The class of Colm Cooper told in Tralee as the “Gooch” hit six points to guide Kerry to their fourth straight NFL Division 1A win.

The Kingdom overcame a dogged Offaly effort to join Mayo on eight points at the table’s summit.

Kerry led 0-06 to 0-05 at the break with Cooper cracking over 0-03 (2f) and the hosts’ Sean O’Sullivan and Niall McNamee of Offaly hitting 0-02 apiece.

Paul Galvin, back from suspension, came off the bench to score two points and Cooper outdid Offaly’s top-scorer Tomas Deehan 0-05 (2f) by fisting his sixth point over in injury-time.
