Hassett at the fore of Kerry MHA drive
Former Kerry footballer Liam Hassett, who recently announced his retirement from the inter-county scene, is spearheading a fundraising drive by the Killorglin Branch of the Kerry Mental Health Association.
Hassett, chairman of the Killorglin Branch, holds the cause close to his heart as his younger sister was diagnosed with a mental health illness ten years ago.
The Branch have ambitious plans to purchase a premises for a Day Centre in the town, for which they need to raise €300,000 – €185,000 has been collected to date.
Their latest venture will be a Gala dinner and auction at the renowned Nick’s Restaurant in Killorglin next Friday (March 24). Tickets for the night are €80 per person and the highlight of the evening will be the auction.
