Red Hands secure first League win

Offaly 0-12 Tyrone 2-15

Tyrone were made to fight all the way for their first win of NFL Division 1A at Tullamore.

Late goals from Martin Penrose and Gerald Cavlan sealed the Red Hands’ triumph. A dogged Offaly side were on top for the first 50 minutes, but faltered in the final stretch.

The sides were locked level at 0-8 apiece at half time. Offaly had points from Niall McNamee, Tomas Deehan and Ciaran McManus while Stephen O’Neill top-scored with four for Tyrone.

O’Neill added five in the second half as Tyrone, aided by subs Owen Mulligan, Kevin Hughes and Cavlan, came good.
