Sheridan lands winner for Meath

Joe Sheridan landed the winning point for Meath as they pipped Laois at Páirc Tailteann.

The Royals’ second NFL win puts them third in the Division 1B table. Laois, despite hitting all of their points from play, struck a galling 21 wides.

Mick O’Dwyer’s visitors led 0-08 to 0-07 at the break with Ross Munnelly kicking three early points.

Daithi Regan and Brian Farrell combined to set up Sheridan for a goal early in the second half. Billy Sheehan’s fourth point had Laois 0-13 to 1-09 in front, but Tadhg Brosnan and Sheridan gleefully reeled off late points for Meath.
