Armagh suffer another defeat

Joe Sheridan and Máirtín Doran hit eight points between them as Meath condemned last year's Division One champions Armagh to their second defeat of the new Allianz NFL campaign.

The Royals made up for losing last week in Down as centre forward Sheridan (0-5) and full-forward Doran (0-3) took the plaudits in Navan.

Against the wind, Meath led 0-9 to 0-5 at half time, with Rory Maguire slotting three early points.

Sheridan lobbed a second-half penalty over the bar as Meath looked comfortable winners.

Substitute Oisín McConville, back from injury, grabbed a goal for Armagh from a quickly-taken free.
