Six-week lay-off for Wexford's Mythen

2005 All-Star nominee Dessie Mythen is to sit out Wexford's opening games in the Allianz National Hurling League.

The Oulart-The Ballagh attacker sustained a broken finger in last Saturday's 3-14 to 2-16 Walsh Cup semi-final win over Offaly, ruling him out of contention for the first three rounds of the league.

Seamus Murphy's side face Waterford, Clare and Offaly between February 19, the opening day of the league, and March 11.

Full-back Darragh Ryan will also be sidelined for those games as he recovers from a series of knee operations.
