Former All-Star Eddie Enright will be absent from the Tipperary senior hurling panel this season due to work commitments.

The 31-year-old midfielder, who won an All-Ireland medal and All-Star award in 2001, has informed Tipp manager 'Babs' Keating that he will be unavailable for selection for the league and championship campaigns.

Enright, who was recalled to the Tipp panel last summer after a year out with with a shoulder injury, is to spend six weeks working in Tokyo between June and July.

If required, the Thurles Sarsfields clubman could make a return in the knock-out stages of the All-Ireland series in the late summer.

Meanwhile, Enright's younger brother Johnny has been named at wing forward for Tipp's Waterford Crystal Cup quarter-final against Limerick at the Gaelic Grounds this Sunday.

The two Enrights starred in Sarsfields' first Tipperary county final win in 31 years last October, sharing out seven points in the 1-17 to 0-15 defeat of Drom Inch.
