Paddy Crozier has named an experienced side for his first competitive outing as Derry senior football manager against Monaghan on Sunday.

Derry travel to Clontibret to take on the Farney men in the Dr. McKenna Cup, armed with nine players that started August's All-Ireland qualifier loss to Limerick in their line-up.

Goalkeeper Barry Gillis, star defender Sean Marty Lockhart and lynchpin attackers Enda Muldoon and Eoin and Paddy Bradley are present in the side, which also includes the recalled Paul Cartin at wing back.

Banagher clubman Cartin has been out of the Derry frame since being involved under Eamon Coleman back in 2001. Claudy attacker Martin Donaghy is unfortunate to miss out having hit 1-2 in last weekend's challenge match defeat of Louth.

The Oak Leafers won the Bellaghy tie on a score line of 2-20 to 1-6 - corner forwards Eoin Bradley (0-5) and Gavin Diamond (0-3) were both in impressive shooting form.

DERRY (v Monaghan): B Gillis; F McEldowney, K McGuckin, SM Lockhart; P Diamond, P McFlynn, P Cartin; J Diver, P Bradley, P Murphy; E Muldoon, J McBride; E Bradley, P Bradley, G Diamond.
