Setanta reveal NFL schedule
Setanta Sports have revealed their broadcasting schedule for the forthcoming Allianz National Football League campaign.
Ireland's only sports channel are to next month commence a deal that secured them the rights to Saturday night NFL games. The first tie due to be broadcast live is the meeting of Kerry and Mayo - a repeat of last season's All-Ireland quarter-final and the 2004 All-Ireland final - at Austin Stack Park on February 4.
As well as the Tralee venue, Setanta Sports will broadcast live floodlit NFL action from Parnell Park in Dublin and Cork's Pairc Ui Rinn stadium. All six games that Setanta will cover will come from Division 1A.
Setanta's Maurice Reidy said: "These are certainly exciting times for Setanta. It is a new voice to the market and it is a chance to show that we can do it as well as the other broadcasters.
"The lighting situation dictates our choice of match but hopefully with the advent of the new lighting at new venues in the course of the year, it will obviously increase our choice in coming seasons."
Reidy added: "We hope to expand on coverage of club championships, colleges (second level) and the GAA as a whole through the course of the year."
