Derry boss names new selectors

New Derry football manager Paddy Crozier has confirmed his selectors for the 2006 season.

Sean Donnelly (Ballinderry), Jodi Wilson (The Loup) and Charlie O'Kane (Banagher) will assist Ballymaguigan clubman Crozier with their duties.

Crozier, who oversaw a 1-13 to 0-7 challenge match win for his side against Fermanagh last weekend, begins his competitive reign on January 8 against Monaghan in the Dr. McKenna Cup.

He is currently monitoring the progress of Glenullin defender Gerard O'Kane. The talented full-back, who played in all five of the Oak Leafers' championship matches last summer, underwent a groin operation in London two weeks ago, and is expected to sit out the McKenna Cup campaign.

Meanwhile, the Derry County Committee has appointed two full-time Games Officers for hurling and football.

Former inter-county hurler Joe McGurk has been chosen as the hurling officer, wile Stephen Ferris, an All-Ireland winner with Derry in 1993, has taken on the football role.
