Teams confirmed for third level competitions

The team for the 2006 Datapac Hurling and Football Championships have been confirmed with the draws to take place next Wednesday at Croke Park.

The draw, which takes place at GAA headquarters at 11.45am, will see 19 colleges, including champions IT Sligo, go into the hat for the Sigerson football Cup, while 11 will be drawn out for the first stages of the hurling equivalent, the Fitzgibbon Cup.

Limerick IT, managed by Clare's 2005 All-Star winning goalkeeper Davy Fitzgerald, won the Fitzgibbon title last March.

2006 will see DCU host the Sigerson finals weekend (February 24-25) with the Fitzgibbon Cup to be ultimately decided at University College Cork the following weekend (March 3-4).
