Cork to name unchanged line up

All-Ireland champions Cork name their side for Sunday's Liam McCarthy Cup decider against Galway tonight, and it is expected to be an unchanged one.

Rebels manager John Allen, in his first season in charge, has no injury concerns with knocks to Brian Corcoran, Neil Ronan, Kieran Murphy (Sarsfields) and Jerry O'Connor having cleared up.

Corcoran, Murphy and O'Connor were all in the starting XV for last month's gutsy 0-16 to 0-15 semi-final victory over Clare, while substitute Ronan, who replaced the scoreless Corcoran, bagged a late point.

Galway announce their side for the final on Thursday night, with manager Conor Hayes set to pick from a full-strength squad. Fit-again forward Kevin Broderick, an All-star in 1997 and 2001, could make a return to the starting line-up, having impressed when coming off the bench in the semi against Kilkenny.

This weekend's clash will be the sixth All-Ireland final between Cork and Galway, with the westerners yet to beat the Munster men. Their last meeting was in 1990 when Cork staged a great recovery to win by 5-15 to 2-21.

That game, in which Cork scored four goals in the space of 20 minutes, had been known as "The Greatest Game Ever" for a time.
