ESB plug into Minor championships

The GAA have announced that the ESB are to be the official sponsors of the All-Ireland Minor football and hurling championships.

The deal comes into effect from September 11, the date of the All-Ireland Minor hurling final, and will run for three years.

ESB will be the first ever sponsors of the All-Ireland Minor Championships.

Padraig McManus, Chief Executive of the ESB, described the deal as a logical bond between two of the oldest associations in the country, saying: "This sponsorship links the many common attributes in terms of countrywide involvement, being community based and commitment to quality shared by both organisations."
