Clifford handed Rebel chance
Former Cork captain Philip Clifford has been given the chance to impress boss Billy Morgan in Sunday's All-Ireland SFC quarter-final against Galway.
The Bantry Blues ace will start as the Rebels' right full-forward at Croke Park, for only the sides' second championship clash since 1987.
Clifford has replaced youngster Fintan Goold, a starter against Sligo last weekend, in Morgan's line-up, while John Hayes, the scorer of four points against the Yeats men, switches to the left flank.
Injury doubts Eoin Sexton (dead leg), Anthony Lynch (hamstring) and Nicholas Murphy (calf muscle) have all recovered to start for Cork.
Sunday will be a serious test of Cork's All-Ireland mettle.
Galway look set to be boosted by the inclusions of Michael Donnellan and Joe Bergin, who are back in training after periods out with stomach muscle and knee injuries respectively.
