Galway star Mattie McDonagh dies
Galway football legend Mattie McDonagh has died at the age of 68.
McDonagh, who was aged in his 60s, is the only Connacht player to have won four senior All-Ireland medals.
He also won 10 Connacht titles with his county and was the scorer of the only goal in Galway's famous three-in-a-row of All-Ireland victories in 1964, 1965 and 1966.
His goal in the first half of the 1966 final against Meath had a major bearing on the outcome of the game as it helped the Connacht side establish what proved to be an unassailable eight-point lead.
