Offaly mounted the comeback of the day to pip Donegal in the final moments of this thriller at Ballyshannon.

It looked like Donegal would cruise to victory after opening up a six-point lead within nine minutes. Colm McFadden, Brian Roper and Brendan Devenney were among the scorers.

Offaly’s only point in the opening 20 minutes came from Mark Daly.

Offaly came back into it later in the half as James Coughlan, Kieran McManus and Niall McNamee scored in the last five minutes to bring the visitors back into it as they trailed 0-7 to 0-4 at the break.

The visitors then raced into a 1-8 to 0-9 lead. Coughlan and McManus scored points before a stunning goal from Coughlan after 47 minutes.
