Marsden quits inter-county game

Armagh attacker Diarmuid Marsden has announced his retirement from inter-county football, just ahead of his 30th birthday.

The 1999 AllStar has been a regular in the Armagh set-up since making his Orchard debut in 1993.

His career culminated in the 2002 All-Ireland victory over Kerry.

Marsden said he was unable to give the necessary commitment to continue with Armagh.

He said: "It was not a decision I took lightly but I will stand by it. The commitment was simply getting too much. It is like a full-time job."
