All-Star Tommy Walsh makes the move from wing-back to centre-back for All-Ireland finalists' Kilkenny's opening league meeting with Munster champions Waterford on Sunday at Walsh Park.

Regular centre-back Peter Barry is unavailable due to his involvement with James Stephens in next month's All-Ireland club final, so the young Tullaroan man deputises.

Cats boss Brian Cody has also named three newcomers on the side - John Tennyson at right corner-back, Bryan Barry at midfield and Richie Power at top of the right. DJ Carey is named among the subs. John Hoyne is at full-forward.
