GAA continues tsunami fund-raising

The GAA is to set to add to the funds it has already raised for the Asian tsunami disaster by staging a match between an All Star selection and Ballinderry Shamrocks on Sunday.

The GAA is to set to add to the funds it has already raised for the Asian tsunami disaster by staging a match between an All Star selection and Ballinderry Shamrocks on Sunday.

A side consisting of primarily Ulster stars of the 1990s will take on the Ballinderry team which won the All-Ireland club title in 2002.

Those set to line out for the All Stars select include former Tyrone goalkeeper Finbarr McConnell, Tony Scullion, Pascal Canavan and Mickey Linden.

The match will take place at 6.30pm at Shamrock Park in Ballinderry.

All Star squad: Finbarr McConnell, Paul Devlin, Gerard Reid, Fay Devlin, Tony Scullion, Paddy McGuinness, Gavin Devlin, Pascal Canavan, Paul Brewster, Ciaran Loughran, Cathal O'Rourke, Stephen Lawn, Mickey Linden, Ger Houlahan, Geoffrey McGonagle.

The GAA has already donated the gate receipts from various provincial competition fixtures to the fund.
