Tom Kelly setback for Laois
Injury-ravaged Laois have suffered another setback with confirmation yesterday that star defender Tom Kelly broke his collarbone during Sunday's facile defeat of Kilkenny in the O'Byrne Cup.
The International Rules star sustained the injury during the O'Moore men's 36-point drubbing of the Cats.
The 2003 All Star was taken to Tullamore Hospital, where X-rays confirmed the break.
Kelly will miss most of the upcoming National Football League and joins his injured colleagues Joe Higgins, Derek Conroy and Beano McDonald on the sidelines.
Laois host Munster finalists Limerick in the opening round of the NFL at the beginning of next month.
