Dublin hurling boss Humphrey Kelleher confirmed that the player had indicated his decision earlier this week.

However, Paul Caffery did say today that he had imposed no conditions on Keaney.

Both the Dublin football and hurling teams lost their opening challenge games of the year today against the Blue Stars in Kilbarrick.

The footballers lost by 3-11 to 2-11, while in the hurling challenge the Blue Stars won by 0-17 to 2-05.
