Caffrey to meet Kelleher on dual code debate
New Dublin football boss Paul Caffrey will hold talks with his hurling counterpart Humphrey Kelleher this weekend on the status of dual players in the county.
Caffrey's predecessor, Tommy Lyons, held a dim view of players competing in both codes and Kelleher will hope the new man disagrees.
The pair are set to meet at the annual Blue Stars games in Kilbarrack on Sunday.
With football more popular in the county, it is thought Caffrey will get the final say as to whether dual stars Conal Keaney, Shane Ryan and David Henry will be available to the hurling panel.
Kelleher said: "It would be a huge boost to the hurlers to have those lads involved. I would be hopeful we could work something out. Shane, David and Conal would be the only three guys I could see at this point being involved with both teams."
