Loyal Brady puts off return Down Under

Mayo's David Brady has reiterated his commitment to newly-crowned Connacht champions Ballina Stephenites.

The midfield maestro had been persuaded by officials to stay in Ireland and defer a return to Australia after yesterday's victory over Galway kingpins Killererin.

Brady spent most of 2003 in Australia and had planned to return after Mayo's All-Ireland final defeat in September.

Brady was instrumental in the Mayo champions winning their first provincial title in seven years and is to stay on to help the side get to the All-Ireland club final.

Ballina suffered heartbreak in 1999, losing to Crossmaglen Rangers on St Patrick's Day.

"As long as Ballina are involved, I won't be going anywhere," said Brady.

"It's great for the club and this really shortens the winter. I had plans but once Ballina have an interest in the club championship they'll be put on hold."
