Portlaoise star won't return for provincial final

Leinster club finalists Portlaoise has rubbished reports that former O'Moore County captain Ian Fitzgerald would return from Australia for their provincial football decider against Meath champions Skryne.

Fitzgerald played a vital role in the semi-final defeat of Dublin kingpins Kilmacud Crokes. Fitzgerald is on a two-month round-the-world honeymoon, and speculation spread he would return for Sunday's final in Newbridge.
