Dubs hope to resume training
Dublin footballer Johnny Magee is prepared to take matters into his own hands before county officials appoint a new manager in the wake of Brian Mullins' decision not to accept the position.
The Kilmacud Crokes star is meeting with other Dublin players tonight to begin fitness training in the absence of a manager.
However, Magee said he hoped a new manager would be appointed this week so the Metropolitans can begin to prepare in earnest for next season. He admitted the players are anxious to begin training.
He said: "Hopefully they will sit down and thrash it all out in the next couple of days. It's a pity Mullins didn't take the job but that's his choice.
"It's disappointing. We want to get back training," he added.
