Young Ó hAilpín gets Carlton invitation

Aisake Ó hAilpín has received an official invitation to train with Aussie Rules outfit Carlton Blues.

The younger Ó hAilpín is set to rejoin his brother Setanta in Melbourne for pre-season training next week. If he impresses, it could mean a longer spell down under, and a move from hurling.

Aisake did not figure in Na Piarsaigh's Munster club championship loss to Toomevara last weekend, and his absence has led to rumours that he plans to switch codes.

However, Cork sources are adamant he is only holidaying in Australia and that he will not undergo trials for the club.
