Club chairman backs Parkinson
The chairman of Portlaoise has pledged to support club captain and inter-county footballer Colm Parkinson in the wake of his arrest at the weekend.
Niall Kavanagh said Parkinson had been a good servant to Portlaoise and had done a fantastic job with the team.
He added: "People should look beyond the headlines and not pre-judge Colm."
Parkinson was arrested after an incident on Saturday night in Athlone involving a number of men, one of whom suffered some injuries.
