Mayo given semi-final boost in Connacht championship

The draw for next year's Connacht football championship was made last night and as All-Ireland

finalists Mayo look to retain their title, they were given a boost with a shoo-in to the semi-finals.

There will be three preliminary round ties. Galway were pre-drawn to play New York, as were Roscommon and London. Leitrim and Sligo were drawn against each other for the final preliminary round game.

The winners of London and Roscommon will meet Mayo, while the winners of New York/Galway will face the winners of the Leitrim/Sligo clash.

(1) New York v Galway

(2) London v Roscommon

(3) Leitrim v Sligo

Semi-finals:

London/Roscommon v Mayo

New York/Galway v Leitrim/Sligo
